Mini Polo cancelled - effective immediately
Due to dwindling numbers, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, we hope to re start mini polo again the future, if numbers permit
Hi Everyone
It is great to see so many players down at trainings, it is good to excellent ethics at training, it makes the coaching much easier and more fun.
It is very important that you keep up with your flexibility and strength exercises ½ an hour before you get in the pool. This time is part of your training
and not a chance for a chat with your mates, by all means talk while you workout , but do not stand around and talk, we do not do it in the pool - do not do it
during warm up!! - these sessions will do 2 things that I need from you
- Makes you stronger and more agile
- Stops you getting shoulder injuries- that means that you can play water polo longer.
Black warm up band are available for $5.00 see me (Rory)
Mini Polo
I hope that you are enjoying the games on a Sunday, the games are very close and competitive, which is good to see.
I would like to see if we can get some schools involved in mini polo and get a league underway if you or Mum or Dad can get a
school team together go for it just be mindful, I think it would be unfair if you had a team of older players, what do you think?
We could have teams of six aside that must have 2 younger players? Do you want to play in league? Is there something that we could do
better or something that we are doing well that we need to push more.
Give us feed back.

Hi Everyone
What a great day down at the pool, we had the under 16's
training from 10.30 to 12.00 and then the first round of "mini
polo" it was good to see that some of the under 16's helped out
by coaching some of the mini polo teams and some training of our
under 7's.
MINI POLO
The mini polo is very important to the success of the club as
this is where the future national league players come from, as a
New Zealand Water polo coach and selector I saw some great games
that included all aspects of any international game- mini polo/
water polo is the same at any level you play
- pass to your team mates
- go up the pool on attack
- come back on defense
- shoot hard at the goal
- play fair
- play as a team
The results of our first mini polo teams are as follows:
| Tsunami's |
3 |
| The Panda Fish |
4 |
| The Tiger Sharks |
4 |
| Sea Horses |
4 |
| The Bobs |
2 |
A special thanks to "James the Ref" for giving up his
homework time to help out and the team mangers.
