The Wharenui Swim Club is one of the largest swim clubs in New Zealand with a proud history of swimming successes and innovations. Our team spirit is found throughout all levels of the club, from the "Learn to Swim" programme up to the top squads.

In addition to the pool facilities and swimming club, Wharenui features a popular fitness centre where membership allows you to combine weight training and gym machines with swimming and saunas. The Wharenui Stadium allows hire for sports teams and fitness centre training including Netball, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton.

You can also learn to swim at Wharenui. We offer special baby/infant/pre-school swimming lessons as well as classes for school children (including holiday programmes) and adults.

The Wharenui Swimming Club, one of the oldest swimming clubs in New Zealand has turned out both Commonwealth and Olympic champions. If you aspire to achieving goals in swimming, the Wharenui Swimming Club, which has been built on years of tradition and excellence is the place to be. Qualified and dedicated coaches will help you achieve your goals. You can compete locally, nationally or internationally. Or join the Masters Swimming Club programme keep fit and improve your swimming.

Three of our club swimmers broke short course records at the recent meet (Note: these results are still deemed unofficial at present.)

Lesley Huckins wins Overall Outstanding Sports Official at Canterbury Sports awards

Congratulations to Lesley Huckins on winning the "Overall Outstanding Sports Official" at the Sport Canterbury's - Canterbury Sports awards 2009 held on Friday November 6th at the Christchurch Events Centre.

A wonderful achievement and well deserved!
